Happy New Year - Building the future

In a few hours, depending on where you live, you will turn the page on the year 2014. During this tumultuous year we've had to reinvent ourselves in spite of ever-increasing sentiments of fatality, exhaustion and denial in front of the hopelessness of our cause. These sentiments have taken root in many of us, in different ways over the years as we witnessed with disbelief the death of the Star Trek community we loved and the disappointment that continues to be Star Trek Online. We have all reacted in our own ways to this heavy weight on our shoulders. Our fate appeared unavoidable. Even those who had witnessed UFP and FC triumphing against insurmountable odds were left perplexed at the possibility of a better future for this 13 years old community, and rightfully so.
It is an understatement to say that our journey has been a hard one; nonetheless once again we have beaten the odds. Like a phoenix this fleet has been reborn from its ashes and is now soaring towards a glorious future.
This future is ours to seize and shape as we please. We are the vanguard of the true Star Trek gaming community. We have paid a heavy price in order to remain faithful to our ideals and as such those who held firm and continue to do so will be rewarded ten-fold. It is men’s purpose to build something greater than oneself. This community has been a source of good in our collective lives, beyond entertainment, beyond camaraderie lies this community, deep in the heart of those who fought to make it endure.
It happened, we made it. But we are now confronted with an ever bigger challenge. We must live up to our glorious legacy and become the beacon we once were, the reference for the true Star Trek gamer. I have said it before and will say it again, the only limits we have are those we impose on ourselves. Let us celebrate the miracle of this past year and move forward with hope and determination. We will rebuild the fabric of what made this the greatest Star Trek clan ever to exist, we shall adapt, train and expand. This family is blessed with outstanding individuals worthy and capable of the greatest achievements. At this junction in our history I can proudly say that the possibilities in front of us are limitless, now is the time to shine.
As such, I am pleased to announce the creation of the Renatus Squadron. This squadron, under Delta Quadrant Command will be constituted of the elite of Armada 3 whose mission will be to establish a mighty presence in this game. It will have the distinct purpose of expanding our influence using any means at the disposal of this fleet. Officers of any rank in FC must and will have something to strive for. A squadron that rewards true excellence and dedication.
