Playing against the AI doesn't give you the proper challenge. If you keep playing with the AI, you'll never get anywhere with RTS games. You might as well just give up.

Actually, every RTS game that has been out is all about PVP nowadays. If you think otherwise? Then you are mistaken. That's in my opinion and I am sure most people agree. You'll never get the proper challenge if you don't fight with a real person and not AI, really.

Why do you think C&C failed? It didn't do well as the fans wanted more content for the multiplayer side of it and the devs failed to make that happen. CoH is the same in terms of PVP as their SP wasn't fully that good because the fans wanted more online from their sequel.

SC is probably the only major RTS game I've never played - and everything I read or watch about it makes it sound like it's focused on the short games. I prefer a long, drawn out game where I can build an economy to cripple my foe with numbers.

I guess this makes me a poor player since I don't often play with high octane tactics but I prefer it that way. I HATE having every nanosecond in the early game determine my outcome.

Considering this, would I like SC? Against AI preferably, I don't play strategy against humans often since I like to take my time and pause a lot for tea.
